Preparation: Seven-Points and Tarot-Anchored-Active-Imagination*

Elise, Gabriela, and Omer act as practitioners; Saida as director; Ariel as videographer; and Roi as witness. All participants experienced the same preparation, and are encouraged to draw on and be informed by it. Through the preparation, each participant established a connection with one Tarot card drawn-and-chosen from the Tarot of Marseille deck. The practitioners hold stewardship of their individual card; and all participants are in-the-know of the others’ cards.

*Preparation: Seven-Points and Tarot-Anchored-Active-Imagination

1. Set Up. One participant will prompt the group, the prompter partaking in the preparation themselves. The prompts are to remain sporadic and concise, allowing generous time and space for exploration. The group members are thus invited to find their own intrigue and creativity in unfolding the prompt: encouraged to take responsibility of the practice, and find ways to share with the group the various point-of-intrigue and games that they have found. The rest of this preparation description will trace the prompts as spoken instructions.
Draw a Tarot card from the Major Arcana of the Tarot of Marseille deck. Take a look at it, and place it in your pocket. Stand in space, and close your eyes.

2. Somatic Alignment: Seven-Points. Return to your body. Direct your attention to one point on your body: it can be a specific-cell or a whole body-part, on the surface of your skin or within the flesh. Direct your attention to a second point. Observe them and their relations through movement and sound. Direct your attention to a third point; a fourth point; a fifth; a sixth; and finally, a seventh.

Find your way to a sitting position. Seal: Take note of your current embodied-state. Mark or compartmentalize it with the third of the Kuji-in Nine Hand Seals, Toh: Point your thumbs and the last two fingers of both hands while keeping your index and middle fingers interlaced inside your hands – directing your attention to Dan-tian chakra, between the Sacral Hara and the Solar Plexus.

3. Visual Alignment: Tarot-Anchored-Active-Imagination. Draw your card from its pocket, placing it in front of your gaze. Open your eyes and examine it. Close your eyes and visualize the card, increasingly specific and detailed. Peek at the card to gather information, then close your eyes; continuing to construct a the visualized-card. Do this several times: visualize, check, visualize. Take a final look, then place the card on the floor in front of you, and close your eyes.
Find a comfortable position, laying on your back. For a duration of seven-minutes, practice Active-Imagination: invite and allow the image of the card – imprinted through visualization – to animate, morph and transform; as it does, trace those transformations, and observe your reaction and relation to them; allow yourself to intervene with the process of transformation, activating and manipulating your imagined-journey.

4. Synthesis. As the process of visualization and transformation continues, begin observing its potential to become-embodied. When you choose to do so, Unseal: Summon or decompartmentalize the somatic alignment of the seven-points by repeating the gesture with which it was sealed. Explore visualization – informed by the visualized-card – through sound and movement – informed by the seven-points.
