Preparation: Active Imagination (seven-minute meditation)

Amit, Naom, and Omer act as practitioners; Ella as director; and Roi as videographer. All participants hold stewardship of the same material, three random Tarot cards drawn from the Tarot of Marseille deck.

During this Period, we found that sharing the material among all participants aided in exploring directorial relations. Practicing in Park HaHorshot (Tel Aviv-Yafo, IL) foregrounded a particularly meaningful directorial potential: choosing, and thereafter shaping the space of practice. In preparation for this Period, we underwent a seven-minute meditation based on Carl G. Jung’s practice of Active Imagination. Starting from a collective image – here, a ship in the ocean – we invited our individual imagination to adventure, delicately tracing the transformations and allowing the ego to interact with them. We then externalized that journey through writing. This preparation served to tune into a certain a mindset of charge as a group, and as a personal material.
